Travel towards Lake Mansarovar and complete the 102 km Mansarovar Parikrama by vehicle. Time is provided for bath, pooja and homa, subject to local conditions.

Mansarovar → Darchen → Deraphuk

Reach Darchen and Yamdwar before beginning the trek towards Deraphuk. The walking section is approximately 12 km and reaches around 4860m.

Deraphuk → Dolmala → Zutalphuk

The most demanding section of the parikrama. Trek approximately 22 km via Dolmala Pass, reaching 5630m, before continuing to Zutalphuk.

QUESTIONS BEFORE THE JOURNEY

Good to know.

The 2027 Kailash Mansarovar Yatra season is scheduled from May to September. The itinerary documents also list normal and full-moon departure dates during these months.

  • Helicopter Route: 08 Nights / 09 Days, starting and ending in Lucknow.
  • Overland Route: 13 Nights / 14 Days, starting and ending in Kathmandu.

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months.
  • Passport scan/Xerox copy should reach the Kathmandu head office 45 days prior to the Yatra.
  • Original passport should reach the Delhi office 25 days prior to the Yatra.

Kailash aerial darshan is open to all ages for NRIs. Anyone, can join the yatra.

Kailash aerial darshan is open to ages below 69 years. Anyone, above this age cannot join the yatra.

  • 25% of the total Yatra cost is required at the time of booking.
  • The remaining full payment should be completed 15 days before departure .

  • Cancellation 45 days before departure : 25% of the total Yatra cost is deducted.
  • Cancellation 30 days before departure : 50% of the total Yatra cost is deducted.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days before departure : no refund.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing ; verbal cancellations are not entertained.

Travel insurance is not included in the package. The itinerary recommends comprehensive travel insurance covering areas such as medical situations, natural calamities, helicopter evacuation, personal accident and cancellation.

The maximum altitude mentioned in the itinerary is 5,630 metres at Dolmala Pass . Mount Kailash itself is listed at an altitude of 6,714 metres , while Holy Lake Mansarovar is at approximately 4,550 metres .

The Kailash Parikrama is approximately 52 km in total, with approximately 42 km covered on foot over three days . The itinerary identifies the Diraphuk → Dolma La Pass → Zutalphuk section as the most challenging day, with approximately 22 km of trekking and an altitude of approximately 5,630 metres at Dolma La.

The itinerary warns that high-altitude travel may cause symptoms such as headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness and breathlessness while the body adjusts. Pilgrims are advised to stay hydrated, remain calm and avoid strenuous exercise. The itinerary also recommends consulting a doctor regarding fitness for high-altitude travel before the Yatra. The tour provides oxygen cylinders and mentions emergency evacuation management as part of the package.

No. Horses, ponies and porters during the Kailash Parikrama are listed under the cost exclusions and are therefore not included in the package price.

The itinerary recommends warm clothing suitable for cold and high-altitude conditions, comfortable walking shoes, thermal wear, gloves, a sun hat, scarf or dust mask and other personal essentials. It also recommends carrying personal medicines, a water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, toilet paper, a torch with spare batteries and a small day pack.

Package inclusions vary slightly by route, but the itineraries include accommodation, vegetarian breakfast/lunch/dinner, Yatra permits and visa fees, experienced guides/support staff, transportation according to the itinerary, a supporting equipment truck, duffel/backpack, refundable warm jacket, first-aid kit, oxygen cylinder and emergency evacuation management. The helicopter route additionally includes the specified Nepalgunj–Simikot flights and Simikot–Hilsa helicopter services.

The itinerary states that the company may be required to cancel a trip due to circumstances such as border closure, permits not being issued or being cancelled, natural disasters, strikes, airport closure or other unforeseen situations. In such circumstances, an alternative trip may be offered where possible, or a refund may be made after deducting expenses already incurred for flights, visas, permits, hotels and vehicles.
